Carla Thomas LAc
Carla Thomas (she/her), Licensed Acupuncturist
Carla is a board-certified Acupuncturist with a B.A. in Economics from Lewis and Clark College and a Masters of Acupuncture from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Carla’s journey with health, wellness, and movement began at a young age due to playing soccer and tennis since she could walk. At the age of 15 she started to have low back pain that didn’t seem to respond to typical treatments. It wasn’t until her senior year of college that she pursued acupuncture to treat her chronic pain after a friend raved about her acupuncture experience. Quickly, acupuncture became a staple in her wellness routine because of its wholistic approach to health.
In her practice, Carla focuses on sports medicine, pain management and reproductive health but she enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions. Carla draws from her vast experience giving over 1000 acupuncture treatments, 500 hours of yoga teacher training and her volunteer work in rural Nepal with the Acupuncture Relief Project.
Carla’s intention as an acupuncturist is to be a guide on her patient’s journey to finding balance and harmony in their body and life’s. She and her patients work together to find the root cause of their pain and then create a personalized treatment plan utilizing acupuncture, therapeutic movement, lifestyle and dietary changes, and referrals to other providers. In the treatment room, Carla uses acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, topicals and KT tape.
Outside of the clinic, Carla enjoys leisurely walks with her dog along the river, strength training, climbing and muay thai. At home, I enjoy cooking and curling up with an epic fantasy novel.
